Chinese film and TV professionals have visited Elstree Studios to see film and television in production side-by-side in a UK studio.

The group, led by Chinese film star Qin Hai Lu, was given a tour of the studios by managing director Roger Morris.

They witnessed a number of productions in progress and met some of the Elstree Studio tenants including Lifecast, the special effects company.

Qin Hai Lu was given a 3D scan using the latest 3D technology and later introduced to a number of weird and exotic creatures used in well-known film and TV series.

She was also invited onto the set of Paddington Bear, a major new feature film in production at the studios, where she met award winning producer David Heyman - the producer of the Harry Potter films and Oscar winning feature film Gravity.

Elstree Studios hope that the visit will lead to more film and TV related partnerships with Chinese producers.

The studios are not the only group in Borehamwood with links in the East. Borehamwood and Elstree Twin Town Association has also formed links with a town in China.
