A charity has received funding to finish renovating a health and wellbeing centre for people in Borehamwood.

Hertfordshire County Council has donated £2,000 to help The Guideposts Trust and Herts Mind Network set up a health and well-being centre in Leeming Road, Borehamwood.

The centre will support people to develop their skills, as well as provide counselling and vocational advice to motivate them into training, further education or paid employment.

The centre also aims to provide holistic support for everyone - inclduing people with complex needs such as age related illness, learning disabilities and relationship or poverty issues.

Lorna Cunningham, a community mental health manager for Guideposts Trust, said: “We’re delighted with all the support we’ve had.

“The money has been used to help with access and health and safety regulations.”

The centre will be called Number Ten and will be officially opened by Councillor Morris Bright on Thursday.
