Knife wielding robber raids tills
10:54am Wednesday 17th October 2012 in News By Anna Slater
A masked robber wielding a knife has been targeting newsagents to raid the tills.
Detectives have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to identify.
The latest robbery happened at the Cooperative Store, Organ Hall Road, Borehamwood, last Tuesday, where a man threatened staff with a knife before stealing cash from the till.
Officers are also hunting the masked man who pointed a knife at a member of staff in Mews Food and Wine, Studio Way, Borehamwood, on September 15.
He forced them to open the till before fleeing with stolen money.
Detectives believe these crimes are linked to a robbery at Martin McColl, in Hartforde Road, Borehamwood, in March this year, where an offender wearing a fluorescent yellow jacket demanded staff hand over money.
Detective Constable Rob Flemming from the Local Crime Unit at Borehamwood police station said: “Whilst these are serious offences thankfully no-one has been injured.
“The offenders have disguised themselves quite well. It may be someone who knows these offenders or recognises their clothing, or someone they know have committed the crime,
“If you can assist in any way, please call the police or Crimestoppers.”

Are the police aware the the money stolen was stolen money? The coop should be held accountable for this.

"He forced them to open the till before fleeing with stolen money."
Dreadful journalism. Every week the same.
