Air Cadets to hold charity quiz
11:20am Thursday 11th October 2012 in News By Anna Slater
Air Cadets are swotting up on their general knowledge in preparation for a charity quiz this weekend.
The cadets, who meet in Rossington Avenue, Borehamwood, are holding the event to raise “desperately needed” cash.
Richard Butler, vice chairman of the group, said: “This event is really important to us because if we don’t raise enough money, we won’t be able to pay for any activity days.
“We also need money to pay for the uniforms, computers and the upkeep of the building.
“I am really looking forward to the quiz and hope it helps bring some cash in.”
At the meetings, the 13 to 17-year-olds are taught discipline, independence as well as how cook for themselves.
Anyone is invited to the quiz, which will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Cadets Headquarters in Rossington Avenue at 7pm.
Admission is £5 for adults and £2.50 for under 18s.
