Summerswood School children help raise cash for cancer charity

Children helped raise cash for a cancer charity at a coffee morning.

The pupils at Summerswood School, in Furzehill Road, took part in the biggest coffee morning in the world to raise the money for Macmillan Nurses on Friday.

The event, organised by the Summerswood Parents Association (SPA) raised £92 for the cause. Deputy Mayor of Borehamwood Clive Butchins also attended the fundraiser.

Angela Brooker, chair of the SPA, said: “It was fantastic, and a great success. Parents kindly donated homemade cakes to help raise the money.

“We were also extremely fortunate to have the deputy mayor attend.”
