A Rolls Royce owner was stunned to find his prized car was used in programmes filmed at MGM studios in Borehamwood.

Frenchman Pascal Liger discovered his car is famous after trawling through insurance papers last week.

The 1967 car was featured in series such as The Avengers, The Professionals, Minder, and Return of the Saint.

Forty-eight-year-old Mr Liger, an estate agent, said: “I was very surprised when I discovered my car had originally been the property of MGM British Studios.

“I went online and found out about all these TV series it had appeared in.

“It is really exciting. Maybe the car used to be used to drive stars from their hotel to the sets? That would be amazing.”

After requesting documents from the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club UK, he realised the car was used on set at the Elstree Way studios during the 60s and the 70s.

Mr Liger, who drives the car around his home town of Saint Gilles Croix De Vie in France, bought the car from a garage in Kent in August.

A typical Rolls Royce of this age costs around £10,000 – but Mr Liger said its past history meant it was “priceless”.

The classic car enthusiast has always dreamed of owning a Rolls Royce but never expected he would own that had featured on TV.

He added: “I used to go to car shows with my father and look at the Rolls Royces in amazement.

“Earlier this year, I decided the time had come to buy my own.

“I am very pleased with it – especially given where it has come from.”
