Time is running out to vote for Hertfordshire's new Police and Crime Commissioner, warns Hertsmere Council

Time is running out to register your vote in the elections for Hertfordshire’s new Police and Crime Commissioner.

Hertsmere residents are being warned they could lose their chance to have a say if they do not return their electoral form by Wednesday, October 31.

It is estimated that so far, around 8000 households have not returned their completed forms.

The new police and crime commissioner will be responsible for the way crime is tackled in Hertfordshire.

Labour’s Sherma Baston will stand against Conservative candidate David Lloyd in the elections for Hertfordshire, which are due to take place on November 15.

Liberal Democrat contender, Ron Tindall, pulled out of the elections last week due to “personal reasons.”

Electoral forms can be downloaded online or by calling the council.

Is this the same David Lloyd Conservative councillor who was involved in the closing of Radlett Fire Station?...no wonder we haven't had any info in Radlett ..... Probably the only time you catch the majority of Radlett residents voting labour!

What ballot forms?

www.policeelections.
com and it states 'Sherma Batson has not yet provided an introductory statement & David Lloyd has not yet provided an introductory statement' so how can i compare the two? Are they both hoping to gain votes on our political pursuasion alone?

What about the senior members of the community who don't have a PC?

Time is running out, i suggest TBWT asks these two candidates to complete their STATEMENTS!!

Apparently this commissioner will direct the budget for the police in Hertfordshire...eg how much money will go towards cracking down on drugs, speeding, anti-social behaviour etc etc- and will get a £90k salary to boot! Do either of these individuals have the right CV for this? Please, Please B&ET run a feature that lays down the facts in words we understand,we don't want some muppet controlling the purse strings!!
