Hertfordshire Highways said it will be "unaffected" by the news that one of its contractors has entered administration and been bought out.
Mouchel, along with Amey and Lafarge JV, manages maintenance and repair works on the county's roads.
On Saturday it entered administration after its shareholders rejected plans to swap its debt for stock. That afternoon, MRBL Limited, which is made up of RBS, Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays, and the group's management acquired the businesses of Mouchel from the administrator.
The group's current contract expires at the end of September, and after that, Ringway Infrastructure Services Ltd will take over the £35m a year highway works contract.
The new £35million contract covers the routine, planned, cyclical and reactive maintenance and improvement work on the county's 3,000 miles of roads and pavements, 1,700 bridges, 100,000 street lights, 154,000 drains and 118,000 signs.
David Henning, from Hertfordshire Highways, said: "We have been in touch with Mouchel and have been reassured that the service that they will provide to Hertfordshire County Council for the remaining five weeks of their contract with us will be unaffected.
