A mother-of-two who is battling cancer married her partner at small wedding ceremony yesterday.
Karen Bureck, 51, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March 2009 after complaining of frequent urination, a swollen stomach and shooting pains down her groin.
She then discovered her cancer spread to her lung, diaphragm, lymph nodes, stomach and bowel.
Yesterday, she married Simon at St Albans Registry Office, after he proposed to her during a two-week trip to South Africa.
The couple, who met over Facebook, began dating just months before the barber discovered she had cancer.
Mrs Burack wore a 50s style wedding dress and the pair have planned a honeymoon in Devon.
