New welcome panel at station to highlight town's film heritage
A new welcome panel highlighting the town’s film heritage has been unveiled outside Elstree & Borehamwood station.
The blue sign, funded by Hertfordshire County Council’s tourism department, features images of programmes filmed at BBC Elstree Studios, in Claredon Road, such as The Muppets.
It is part of a regeneration project run by film heritage group First Impressions, Hertsmere Borough Council, Hertfordshire County Council and First Capital Connect.
Bob Redman, secretary of First Impressions, said: “Elstree is the home of film and that is something really unique.
“This welcome sign will show people what makes this place special.”
