Helicopters and police cars swarmed Radlett in the early hours of yesterday evening, following reports of a burglary.


According to Hertfordshire Police, at about  5.10pm officers were alerted to a burglary in Merry Hill Road in Bushey.



Police and a force helicopter were dispatched to the scene.



A Volkswagen Golf was found in Aldenham Avenue, Radlett and a short time later, two men, both aged 31, were arrested in Station Road, Radlett on suspicion of burglary.



They are currently being held in custody.



Eyewitnesses took to Twitter to report seeing about 20 police cars and a helicopter in the High Street at around 5.45pm.

One user, Tamara Bailey, said: “Police have been zooming down Watling Street for a while now.”

Another user, Claire Boldison, said: “I know it’s gone crazy. Lots of police around and helicopter circling.”

And Nick Royce, said: “Radlett has gone mad. Anyone know what’s going on?”


A grey Audi A3 which was abandoned in "suspicious circumstances" in Tylers Way, Watford, is also being investigated in connection with this incident.
