The Herts Air Ambulance fundraising team is looking for supporters to embark on the charity’s next big challenge – trekking the Dead Sea to Petra.

From November 3 to 10, 2013, volunteers will face the challenge of a lifetime, taking on Jordan’s dramatic red sands and towering cliffs of the south and the stony plains of volcanic basalt in the east.

There is some spectacular scenery to be enjoyed from the lush hills in the north of the country to the plunging rift of the Jordan valley, which runs into the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

The eight-day trip starts with the unique experience of floating in the Dead Sea while adjusting to the sweltering desert climate. Starting at Wadi Khudeira, trekkers then begin their demanding journey to Petra traversing dry riverbeds and stony desert terrains while taking in some incredible views over the Petra Mountains.

The trek culminates at the famous Red Rose City of Petra where trekkers are free to explore this ancient city on their last day in Jordan.

Until November 1 the charity is offering a discounted registration fee of £250 (the fee will be £300 thereafter), plus a minimum fundraising target is required. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Volunteers should contact Sabi Blyth on 0845 2417 690, email FRco-ordinator@EHAAT.uk.com or visit HertsAirAmbulance.uk.com for more details.
