Young people in Hertfordshire with an inspiring story to tell can be nominated for a competition.
The Mitsubishi Electric Young People of the Year contest, launched last month, aims to correct the image that young people are “binge-drinking, drug-taking violent hoodies.”
The competition, run by the Young People of the Year charity (YOPEY), is open for anyone aged ten to 25 and groups of people can enter.
There is a top prize of £800 to win, and runners up will also win cash prizes.
Last year’s winner, Daniel Levy from Borehamwood, created a website to enable Jewish families to trace the graves of their war dead. Anyone can nominate positive role models and entries close on September 30.
