Hundreds of children enjoyed a day of sporting excitement as the Olympic flame arrived in the county.
Around 1,500 children aged seven to 19, including a team from Hertsmere, took part in the annual Herts Youth Games at the University of Hertfordshire’s Hatfield campus on Sunday.
The torch, carried by Talya Jacobson, 17, stopped off at the campus during its 70-day relay across the country, ahead of the start of the Games on July 27.
It topped off a day of glory for Hertsmere children, who were crowned third overall in the competition.
During the games, the children competed in ten different sports, from athletics to badminton and football to table tennis.
