Developers announce £10million redevelopment of Elstee Business Centre
A company has announced it will be spend £10million regenerating the site of a former business centre which developers hope will create jobs for the area.
The current owners of the former Elstee Business Centre, in Elstree Way, Borehamwood, Legal and General Property, have unveiled plans to develop the site.
The proposals include nine industrial and warehouse units and also a new two storey Wicks store, which will replace the current shop in Borehamwood Shopping Park.
Chris Pearse, from Legal & General Property, said: “This is one of the first significant planning applications for a commercial site in Borehamwood for a number of years.
“Securing Wickes as an occupier means we can start building as soon as we get planning permission, which will create much needed new jobs for local people.
“This is a great opportunity to kick-start the local economy and we hope Councillors will look favourably on the planning application when it comes before the committee next month.”
Proposals also include two new access routes for the site will be on Elstree Way and Chester Road and there will be spaces for up to 253 cars.
The plans were submitted to Hertsmere Borough Council earlier this year and will go before the Planning Committee in the next months.
