A pawnbrokers say they are working with police after stolen items were found being sold from a branch in Borehamwood.

The statement comes after last week a woman, who had her crystal figurines stolen, found her items were being sold at Cash Converters, in Shenley Road.

Since then shop has been working with police to return the goods back to their rightful owner.

A spokesman from Cash Converters said the store has a proactive relationship with local police who are satisfied the store followed the correct protocols when dealing with the goods in question.

Carl Murray, store owner said: “We are committed to working with the police to reduce crime and share information constantly in order to prevent the store from buying stolen goods.”

He added that the shop has a strictly enforced stolen goods policy which involves anyone looking to sell goods to the shop producing two forms of identification, having their photograph taken and signing an agreement to confirm they are the legal owner of the goods and be prepared for us to share their details with the police.
