A mum-of-three has died in a Nigerian plane crash which claimed more than 150 lives.

Antonia Attuh, 45, was flying from the Nigerian capital Abuja to Lagos when the Dana Air plane crashed and burst into flames on Sunday, June 3.

She married Dr Robert Attuh from Radlett in 1998 and although she moved to Nigeria two years ago, she would fly back regularly.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live's Up All Night programme on Tuesday, Mrs Attuh’s sister Jill Chime said family members are trying to find her body in Nigeria.

She said: "I also have my cousin who yesterday had gone through 30-odd bodies trying to locate her and today he's gone through a further 40 but as of yet, we still have no confirmation of a corpse.

"It is very difficult, it is very distressing. My sister was a wonderful person, she's quite an exceptional person."

Ms Chime called for an investigation into the crash.

She said: "Definitely an inquiry because only then can the lessons of this tragedy be learned.

"My sister would not have rested until she'd got to the bottom of what happened and why it happened."

Mrs Attuh moved to Liverpool with her family when she was four. After university she settled in London where she worked at Westminster City Council as a policy officer from 1997 to 2007.
