Two appear in court over stabbing in Borehamwood

A man has been remanded in custody and a woman released on bail in connection with a stabbing earlier this week.

A woman was stabbed on Monday in Buckingham Road, Borehamwood, at 12.45pm and was taken to Barnet Hospital for treatment. She was released later that day.

Jamie McCarthy, 21, of Stapleton Road, Borehamwood, appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody.

Tracey McCarthy, 44, of Cowley Hill, Borehamwood, was released on bail under strict conditions not to enter Borehamwood.

Both were charged with grievous bodily harm and wounding with intent. Mr McCarthy was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
