Fitness instructor takes on marathon challenge for charity
10:30am Monday 9th April 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A fitness instructor took part in a Bokwathon to raise money for Cancer Research last week.
Steph Hartley, 24, of Rossington Avenue, Borehamwood completed two hours of the dance fitness exercise called Bokwa, which is a mixture of boxing and the traditional African dance of Kwaito.
Miss Hartley, who is a qualified instructor of the dance program, took on the challenge at the Maxwell Park Community Centre, in Maxwell Road, with 35 of her students raising more than £500.
She said: “It was really tough work and the exercise is high intensity, but everyone did really well and raised a lot of money for a good cause.
“I know people who have been helped by the charity before and I just wanted to do my bit to help them.”
