Children at a school in Borehamwood welcomed their mums to lessons for a day of fun activities to mark Mother’s Day.

Pupils in all years at Parkside Community Primary School, in Aycliffe Road, invited their mothers, aunts, sisters and grandparents to take part in the annual Bring Mum to School Day today.

Pupils and parents took part in a number of activities including making photo frames, flower pots and bouquets of flowers out of tissue paper during the event, which in its fifth year.

Amanda Monahan, whose son Harvey is in Year 1, said: “I think it’s been great fun and it is really good they get the parents involved.

“The kids have really enjoyed it and so have I. The best thing is I’ve got myself a lovely little flower pot.”

Headteacher Julie Muncey said: “The event gives parents, aunts, sister or grandparents the chance to come and see what the children do in school."
