Trading standards is warning people to dispose of bedding which poses a fire risk.

Safety tests conducted by Hertfordshire trading standards showed them to be dangerous as they are highly flammable and produce toxic smoke.

The mattress toppers can be identified by their packaging which has no branding and no safely label which is a legal requirement.

The pillows do have safety labels, but do not have a manufacturer, distributor or importer which are also required legally.

The products have been sold at a number of outlets in Hertfordshire over the last five years.
