UK Border Agency staff raided McDonald's in Borehamwood this morning as part of a surprise immigration inspection.
Officers arrived at the branch of the fast food chain, in Shenley Road, shortly after 10.20am while customers were eating their breakfast.
Neil Branham, a customer in the restaurant when it was raided, said: “We were just minding our business eating our breakfast when the officers piled in.
“It certainly livens up the Monday morning.”
The branch is currently closed and will remain so while agency officers interview McDonald’s staff.
