A Muslim charity hosted a multi-faith lecture about the life of Muhammad at the weekend.
More than 50 people, including families with children, attended the event at St Michael's Vicarage Hall, in Brook Road, which was organised by the Muslim Community Centre Borehamwood.
The event told about the life of Muhammad from when he was born to his death, and discussed his beliefs and teachings throughout his life.
Taufiq Lodhi, who organised the event, said: “It all went really really well and everyone had a great time.
“It was a truly multi-cultural affair, as we had people from the Christian and Jewish faiths and it was a great chance for people to learn about Islamic history.
“It all went so well and we will certainly be doing something similar to it again.”
The lecture was also to mark the birthday of the prophet Muhammad, with food and soft drinks for all those who attended, as well as face painting for children.
The event was attended by MP James Clappison and his wife and the Mayor of Hertsmere Peter Knell and his wife the Mayoress June Knell.
Councillor Peter Knell said: “It was a really friendly event and there was a great mix of people there from different faiths.
“I was a really nice evening and good to meet people from different parts of the community there.”
