A housing association which owns a block of flats that flooded twice in two weeks said the incident was caused by frozen pipes thawing.
The flats in Northgate Path, Borehamwood, managed by Affinity Sutton, were flooded on Saturday due to water freezing and bursting pipes in the recent cold snap, affecting more than a dozen homes.
The same flats were flooded for the first time on Friday, February 3, forcing some people out of their homes and destroying their possessions.
In a statement Affinity Sutton said: “Unfortunately at this time of year we can have difficulties with properties affected by freeze thaw.
“The two incidents were completely unrelated, with the first occurring in a resident’s flat and the other in the communal roof space of the building.
“We are now undertaking remedial works to our homes, allowing the affected areas to dry out and looking at putting measures in place to try and avoid this happening again."
Affinity Sutton also said it was working on making the homes safe and residents affected were relocated where necessary.

unfortunately they are not.its in the tenancy agreement that you are expected to get home contents insurance ,which they used to provide for a small sum of money per week when they were ridgehill.
