MEMBERS of the Boreham Wood Women's Institute will celebrate the group's 88th birthday today.
With help from Elstree & Borehamwood Mayor Sandra Parnell and Hertsmere Mayor Peter Knell, the W.I. will mark the occasion with a cake cutting.
The branch was set up in October 1923, with the first meeting taking place in a church hall in Theobald Street.
88 years later, the number of members and meeting place may have changed but the group is still going strong.
