A BURGLAR was disturbed as he stole expensive jewellery from a home in Radlett.

The theft happened at around 12.30pm on Friday, September 23, when a man broke into a house and searched for valuables.

The homeowners returned and as they walked through the door the thief ran past them and snatched a handbag, knocking a woman to the ground who received minor injuries.

The man ran off toward Shenley Hill.

Police have not disclosed where the robbery happened in the village, but have today asked for residents to help recover the stolen items.

The man managed to steal an emerald and gold ring, a turquoise and gold ring, an emerald brooch with a diamond, an amethyst and gold ring, a gold bracelet with charms, a Victorian pearl brooch and a necklace with a blue stone.

Investigator Jordan Carter said: “If anyone recognises the items listed, particularly the distinctive charm bracelet, and thinks they have seen someone selling them, I would ask them to get in touch.”

She added: “Alternatively, if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the offence, I would also like to hear from you.”

Anyone with any information should call Jordan Carter via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
