The new Jewish high school for Borehamwood, Yavneh College, won planning permission last week for the latest stage of its radical redevelopment of the old Hillside School site.
Work is already well underway on the site of the new school, which will open its doors to pupils on September 4. The latest stage of the redevelopment involves the demolition of three blocks and the creation of two-storey wings to the front and rear of the main school building, which will provide space for a dining hall, library and classrooms. Playing fields to the rear of the school are also to be revamped and space made for a car park.
