Two of Borehamwood's main parks are being given £5,000 revamp in time for summer.
Snowboards, log runs, climbing rings and slides are just some of the new pieces of equipment being installed at the play areas in Baker Court and Stanborough Avenue, thanks to funding from a national lottery grant.
At the Baker Court site a fantasy fun run will be installed aimed at young children. There will also be new seating for families to have picnics.
The Stanborough Avenue play area is set to cater for a wide range of age groups and will be split into two separate sections. Climbing rings, and scramble nets will be for the older children and slides and swings will be available for young toddlers.
The work is being carried out after a consultation with residents and both parks are expected to be completed by the summer.
Michelle Reynolds, from Ridgehill Housing Association, which has managed the project, said: "We hope that it will make a positive and exciting contribution to the lives of the children living in our housing."
