Could you be Miss Hertfordshire?

WANNABE beauty queens aged between 17 and 24 can take their first steps on the road to being crowned Miss Hertfordshire this weekend.

The search for this year's winner will begin on Sunday, when girls from across the county are invited to take part in the semi-final auditions.

Contestants are interviewed and photographed, before the number of entrants is whittled down to just 40 to take part in the final on May 16.

The winner will compete for the Miss England title, and should they win the national final, they would then go on to represent their country at Miss World 2010.

The auditions for Miss Hertfordshire will take place in the Galleria, Hatfield, on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
