A MAN has been charged with the murder of a Borehamwood pensioner who was stabbed to death during a burglary at his home.
Police confirmed Marcio Reis De Sa Barros, 30, from Brook Road, has been charged with William Humphrey’s murder and also eight counts of robbery.
William Humphrey, known as Bill, was stabbed several times at his home in Brook Road on Tuesday between 3.30pm and 12am.
His body was found on Wednesday morning. Police arrested Mr Barros later that day.
A 31-year-old woman, from Borehamwood, who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been bailed, pending further inquiries.
