Teenage girls convicted of fraud

Two girls aged 13 and 14 were convicted of fraud this week after being found in Borehamwood in possession of a clipboard and sponsorship form.

Both teenagers were convicted under section 6 of the fraud act which states it is illegal to possess articles to be used in fraudulent activities.

One of the girls was sentenced to a seven month referral order.

The other was ordered to complete a reparation order, where 24 hours of service to the community or to the victim must be completed over three months.
