A specialist clinician addressed a packed meeting of the West Hertfordshire branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society last week.
Dr Sally Mathew, associate specialist and lead clinician at Edgware Community Hospital, addressed more than 70 members of the West Herts Parkinson’s Branch at their monthly meeting last Thursday.
At the meeting, held at St Thomas's Church, in Langley Road, Watford, Dr Mathew spoke about how holistic assessment and treatment of the disease can improve the quality of life and reduce the burden on the NHS.
The meeting also involved members singing happy birthday to 99-year-old Lillian Hunt, from South Oxhey, who is one of the longest-serving members of the branch and celebrated her birthday on the same day.
