Hundreds of people flocked to Borehamwood’s town centre yesterday to see the Christmas decorations light up the town.

As well as the big switch on in the afternoon, Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council had arranged a fun-packed day of music, ice-skating and carol singing to keep the crowds entertained.
All Saints Church, in Shenley Road, celebrated the arrival of the festive season with a carol service featuring pupils from Kenilworth School.
The Borehamwood Com.unity Choir were at hand to provide seasonal tunes along with the Borehamwood Brass Band.
But the highlight of the day for many families was the synthetic ice skating rink outside the church, which proved a popular addition to the high street.
Decorative Christmas displays have been put up in Elstree High Street, Manor Way, Leeming Road and Shenley Road funded by the town council.
