BROOMLEIGH residents raised £660 for charity by opening their gardens to the public.
Award-winning gardens in Densole Close, Beckenham, had more than a hundred visitors in support of St Christopher's Hospice, Sydenham.
The avid gardeners in the close hold a monthly table-top sale to buy plants and equipment for their gardens, which have won two awards in Broomleigh's Flower Power competitions.
The show was opened by Councillor John Lewis. His wife Sheila received flowers from the close's oldest member, 90-year-old Ernie Foreman.
Resident Wendy Law said: “It was a lovely day and went well. We hope to do it again later this year.”
