Hertfordshire County Council is bucking the trend when it comes to the gender pay gap – with latest statistics showing women are paid more.
Across the public sector, male employees are paid 6.8 per cent more per hour than female employees.
But according to figures in the county council’s Workforce Report, female employees are paid 0.9 per cent more than male.
This year (2018) it became a legal requirement for the county council to publish gender pay statistics.
They were set to be considered by the council’s resources and performance cabinet panel on Thursday (September 20).
Meanwhile the report also shows that women continue to make up the majority (67.1 per cent) of the workforce.
