Families can enjoy free tennis sessions.

Watford Borough Council has partnered with national sports charity, Tennis for Free, to give out free games and lessons in Cassiobury Park, Watford.

This is the first scheme of its kind in Hertfordshire and will this Saturday between 9am and 10.30am.

Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “Whether you've never picked up a racquet or are a seasoned regular, there is something for everyone at these sessions.

“The resurfaced courts we have invested in at Cassiobury mean tennis players can enjoy a smoother, more modern surface.

“I’m really proud that at a time where councils are having to make cuts that we can help put on these fantastic free events.”

Tennis coach Michael Aderogba said: "We are all very excited to welcome Tennis For Free to Watford.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for all members of the community to get into the spirit of trying tennis for either the first time or to dust off the cobwebs and try again.

“You can bring your own racquet if you wish but don’t worry all equipment is provided and as the name suggests, everything is free.”

Everyone is welcome and all equipment is provided free of charge, to sign up visit tennisforfree.com
