A primary school is marking its 60th birthday this month and they are celebrating it by bringing the circus to town.

Monksmead School is hosting a special event on September 22 complete with a Happy Circus performance made up of acrobats, aerialists, magicians, and the ever popular clowns.

Organised by the Friends of Monksmead Parent Association, the afternoon of fun will not only recognise 60 years of the school’s existence but it will help look to the future too with the school looking for funds to build a new climbing frame for the pupils.

Alongside the circus, there will be a bouncy castle and games, as well as refreshments including a waffle bar, a burgar bar, ice cream, prosecco tent, and slush puppies.

Tickets can be brought at www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsofmonksmead or at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/monksmead-school-circus-in-association-with-happys-circus-tickets-49982714645
