Police say a number of people were on a petrol station forecourt when a man was punched in the head and knocked unconscious.
Last week, the Borehamwood Times reported that a man in his 40s was taken to hospital following a dispute which took place at the Esso petrol station in Watling Street, Radlett, at 8.45pm on August 27.
The man remains in hospital with a serious head injury.
The attacker, who was driving a black Mercedes A180, punched his victim before fleeing. He is described as a white man aged in his 20s with light brown hair and stubble.
He was wearing a black T-shirt and jogging bottoms.
Police say they have since studied CCTV footage and a number of people appear to have witnessed the incident.
Detective Constable Andy Paveley, from the Hertsmere local crime unit, said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.
“If you saw the incident and have not yet spoken to police, we would urge you to make contact with us as soon as possible. This was a nasty assault that has left the victim with serious injuries.”
