Hertswood Academy in Borehamwood recorded a “strong” set of A-level results with a record number of A* and A grades.
The academy in Cowley Hill, which is currently being redeveloped, said more than a third of its sixth form gained an unconditional place at university, with one student heading off to Oxford University.
Bethan Jeffs will be studying Theology and Religion at Oxford, ranked as the second best university in the Unversity League Tables 2019. She achieved an A*, two A’s, and a B.
The top performing student was Sam Wakiel Tojar. He achieved an A* and 3 A’s and was warmly congratulated by head teacher Peter Gillett.
The academy also gave special mentions to Katelyn Barnes who scored A*A*AB, Bianca Merlusca who achieved A*A*A and Jasmine Doe who achieved an A* and two A’s.
