A brand new state-of-the-art academy which is currently being built welcomed the borough’s MP to the site.
Oliver Dowden was invited to take a tour of the Hertswood Academy site in Cowley Hill, Borehamwood, which is under construction.
He joined head teacher Peter Gillett, chief engineer Steve Yanuauskas and the head girl, Rosie Walsh, and deputy head boy of the school Bleon Shalaku.
The £32m development is on track and the academy hope to open the brand new building in September 2019. It will include a brand new sports hall, theatre, and restaurant.
Mr Dowden, MP for Hertsmere said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Hertswood again and see their new home taking shape.

“The plans for the new building look fantastic. It will provide wonderful new opportunities for the school and I’m very grateful to Mr Gillet, the construction team and the senior students for taking the time show me around.
“I very much look forward to coming back again once it’s completed.”
