Two councillors paid a visit to a charity to help pack goods which will be sent to refugees across the world.

Councillors Caroline Clapper and Gary Silver spent Valentines Day at Goods for Good warehouse in Borehamwood.

The charity recently hit a milestone after donating more than £10 million worth of goods to a million refugees around the world.

In the past three years, the charity has helped co-ordinate sending overstocked goods such as shoes and nappies to vulnerable countries around the globe, including Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Syria.

Goods for Good are also launching a campaign to coincide with International Women’s Day which falls on March 8.

The project is called ‘Women for Women’ and the aim is to raise £7,700 which will cover the cost of 25 pallets of sanitary towels for refugee women and girls in Kurdistan.

Goods for Good founder Rosalind Bluestone said: “It’s unimaginable to think that these women have absolutely no access to these basic necessities. Thank you to everyone helping us to deliver these urgently needed supplies to women in need.”
