A GANG of men have been jailed for a total of 43 years after they were caught with a gun.

Jonathan Gomez, of Elstree Way, Borehamwood, is one of three men found guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life. 

Gomez had pleaded not guilty but he was found guilty on December 14 2017 at Harrow Crown Court.

The 33-year-old has been jailed for 12 years after he was sentenced at the same court today.

• Ameer Al-Sekafi, 25, of Melliss Avenue, Twickenham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing cocaine and cannabis and having of criminal property relating to the large sum of cash found at his house. He was given 12 years in jail.

• Matthew Noori, 25, of Chippenham Road, W9, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and was sentenced to 13-and-a-half years' in jail.

• Arnas Laugalis, 28, of Arboretum Place, Barking, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to posses a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession with intent to supply cocaine and MDMA, and given five years in jail.

Police were trailing them as part of an investigation on August 26, 2016 at 3.30pm.

They saw Laugalis get into a car with Matthew Noori in Clarendon Road, West London.

Ameer Al-Sefaki was in the drivers seat and when Laugalis got out of the car, he had a black plastic bag in his hand.

A few minutes later, Laugalis got out of the car, with a black plastic bag in his hand.

Less than an hour later, police watched Laugalis give Gomez the plastic bag in Borehamwood, which was then put into his car.

They left separately but police caught up with them and they were arrested.

A search of the black plastic bag in Gomez’s car found a firearm, ammunition, and a silencer.

In October, police searched a house in Perivale, Ealing, where they found a handgun, ammunition and a silencer inside the loft.

Police found Noori’s DNA on the gun and when they investigated his mobile phone records, they found he knew those who lived in the house. He was arrested on December 7 2016.

Al-Sekafi’s DNA was also found on the same firearm.

He was arrested on July 7 2017. Cocaine, cannabis, and £10,500 was seized from his house.
