A MAN has completed an incredible feat of running 12 marathons in nine months.

Damian Schogger, who lives in Borehamwood, ran his final race on Sunday since his journey began in February, and he has raised nearly £5,000 for Talia Trust for Children UK, Mr Schogger set himself the challenge at the beginning of the year with a view to accomplishing it in a year but he has surpassed his own expectations.

"It just so happened the final four races were bunched together, so it all happened ahead of schedule. My legs were begging for a rest before Sunday's final marathon, but I managed to focus on the end goal and finish the final race in a respectable 3.22.55."

Mr Schogger is a trustee, of the Talia Trust, which support children from disadvantaged homes and suffer from learning disabilities.

After starting in Cambridge, the challenge was completed at the Phoenix Riverside Winter Marathon in Surrey.

His other races have included the London marathon and Stevenage.
