A SPACESHIP which lost its way en route to see the planets and stars crash landed in a primary school.

Hysteria filled Loyola Prep School, in Buckhurst Hill, when children got to school early on Monday morning.

They were met with a crash site in their playground and realised a confused astronaut had lost his way.

The project was to stimulate creativity with a literacy focus to prove learning doesn't have to be boring and mundane.

It was held as part of a literacy and creative writing initiative.

Throughout the day, children wrote alien poems, newspaper reports and stories based on what they had seen.
