A store will create a calmer atmosphere for an hour in honour of an awareness campaign.
Sainsbury's in Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, are supporting the National Autistic Society's Autism Hour on October 2 at 10am, by creating a calmer atmosphere in the store, turning down the tannoy and being more autism-friendly.
Store manager Karen Staples said: "We’re extremely proud to be supporting the National Autistic Society’s Autism Hour.
"It’s an excellent initiative which will not only help increase awareness and understanding of autism amongst our colleagues and customers but also provide an enhanced shopping experience for people in the local community with autism."
Colleagues will also be given tips on how to be more autism-friendly in the week leading up to the campaign
