A girls' school accepted their first ever Year Two class on the first anniversary of its opening.

St Anthony's School for Girls in North End Road, Golders Green, opened in September 2016 and has now accepted its first ever Year Two class, making the school open to girls from reception to Year Four.

At the time of the school's opening there were only reception and Year Three classes, and organic growth over the next two years will see the establishment of Year Five and Six classes as pupils move up the school.

Headteacher Laura Flannery said: "We have had a fabulous first year. Those pupils who were with us for the last 12 months - our inaugural year, have flourished enormously both academically and personally.

"We are now excited to welcome new pupils to the school as part of the newly created Year Two year group, together with pupils who have joined other year cohorts as our growing reputation spreads."

The school is run by the Alpha Plus group operates eighteen independent schools, catering for children aged from nursery to sixth form.
