Consultations have started on potential new cycle paths through Finchley, Hornsey then on to central London
A NEW “quietway” cycle path is proposed to connect Barnet to London-wide cycle paths.
The new cycle paths, which will have Transport for London funding, are proposed to run along Friern Park, join Friern Barnet Lane before continuing via residential roads to Alexandra Palace, where further “quietways” connect into central London.
Barnet Council says the roads will not be pedestrianised, but will provide a route for cyclists using existing infrastructure.
Construction is expected to start in July 2019.
A consultation is currently taking place, with meetings taking place at the Wren Academy in Woodhouse Road, Finchley, today at 6pm and on Saturday at 10.30am.
