Enfield's best-loved theatre company is performing an Elizabethan classic in its newest production.

Chickenshed Theatre, and inclusive theatre company working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, is bringing to life Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus.

The story is a timeless tale of a man prepared to sell his soul for 24 years of incredible power. A man desperate to learn the world's hidden truths, he rejects studies and devotes himself to the black arts, but the devil will always have his due.

Chickenshed's production incorporates magical effects along with the cast's energy to bring something sublime to the stage.

Previously at the theatre, the team has put on an incredible list of productions, such as Blowin' In the Wind, Adventure to Oz and the Planet Play, which has recently returned to the theatre and will continue alongside Doctor Faustus until October 20.

The Planet Play is an example of Chickenshed's desire to make theatre accessible for all, as a sensory play for young babies and toddlers which helps them explore the world through songs, colour and light.

For Doctor Faustus there are two accessible performances: a signed performance and a captioned performance, so anyone can come and watch without feeling they are not immersed in the action.

Another way theatre fans can get more involved in Doctor Faustus is through accompanying events where members of the creative team talk about special effects, theatrical magic and the process of staging such a renowned work.

Doctor Faustus opens at Chickenshed Theatre, 290 Chase Side, London, N14 4PE, for previews on September 26 and closes on October 20, with accompanying events taking place on October 3 and October 13.
