More armed officers are on the streets following Friday's terror attack in Parsons Green.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has issued advice to help residents keep safe in the face of a terror attack and has put more officers on the streets as the threat level was raised to severe.

This comes after 30 people were injured in a terror attack where a bomb was detonated on a tube in Parsons Green.

However, police have warned while the public will see an increased armed policing presence in the county, no special personnel are to be deployed in Hertfordshire, though the this will be reviewed.

Regional lead for Counter Terrorism Bedfordshire Police Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said: “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the incident in Parsons Green. Such attacks are an attack on us all.

"Those responsible seek to undermine society by spreading discord, distrust and fear.

Chief Constable Boutcher went on to assure residents that the service in Hertfordshire are "well rehearsed" in the event of a similar attack in the area, and called on residents to remain vigilant, but not alarmed, especially on public transport and in crowded places.

Hertfordshire Constabulary also warned that if you get caught up in a terrorist attack, you must follow the "run, hide, tell" advice, with more information available on their website.

If you see any suspicious activity call the confidential national police hotline on 0800 789321 or 999 in an emergency.
