A HIGH street clothes shop is looking good after winning a national award.

Store Dresswise in 10 Shenley Road, Borehamwood was crowned the Young Fashion Retailer of the Year at the Drapers International Awards on Thursday.

The shop opened in January by partners Lisa Wise and Vicky Lane after the pair spotted a gap in the market for children aged 12 to wear age appropriate and fashion forward clothing.

Lisa said: "We are delighted to have won this award and so glad that we have had recognition of this scale, it is the biggest award in the industry.

"We decided that opening an actual bricks and mortar shop was the best way for our business as people can come in and to talk to use about what they are looking for as well as trying on the clothes.

"We wanted to open our shop in Borehamwood as we both know the area well. It's a thriving community that we are glad to be a part of."

The judges said: “The shop aims to foster desirability with a specific focus on cult brands such as Cheryl and Vintage Havana.

“Each style is ordered in small numbers to create a “want it now” feeling among customers, which keeps them coming back.”
